Author Guidelines

SUAR BETANG JOURNAL GUIDELINES


The manuscript submitted to the journal of SUAR BETANG must fulfill the following conditions.

  1. The manuscript is never published and not submitted to the other publishes party.
  2. The manuscript is in the form of research results about language and literature scope.
  3. The manuscript is in Indonesian or English, 10--20 pages (references and appendices excluded), typed on A4 paper, Times New Roman, font size 12, single space, upper, right, and lower margins 2 cm, left margin 2,5 cm.
  4. The manuscript should be systematically written (a) TITLE (in Indonesian and English); (b) author's name (without academic degree); (c) affiliation; (d) corresponding e-mail; (e) ABSTRACT (single space, 100-200 words, no citations) in English and Indonesian; (f) keywords (up to 5 words/phrases, separated by semicolon); (g) format of the manuscript: INTRODUCTION (consists of background, problem, purpose of writing, theoretical framework, literature reviews, novelty, and academic gap) with no subheadings; RESEARCH METHOD, RESULT AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION (suggestion or implication, no citations) with no subheadings and no citations, REFERENCES. 
  5. The table description is placed above the table concerned with avoiding vertical lines, while the image description is placed under the image.
  6. The manuscript is sent using the OJS system through the website of SUAR BETANG Balai Bahasa Kalimantan Tengah to http://suarbetang.kemdikbud.go.id/jurnal/index.php/BETANG/index
  7. SUAR BETANG editorial allows the general public (researchers, lecturers, teachers, and other professionals) to submit the manuscript.
  8. The certainty of acceptance/rejection of the manuscript can be seen by the online system.
  9. The editorial has the authority to manage the publishing period and the writing format according to rules determined by SUAR BETANG.
  10. The number of references is at least 25--30 items, 80% are journal articles, and the rest 20% are books or other primary sources. 
  11. References are arranged alphabetically. Using reference manager app., e.g. Mendeley, is a must.
  12. APA Style is used for managing references. Below are the examples.
  • Book with Single Author:

    Gire, A. (2006). An inconvenient truth: The planetary emergency of global warming and what we can do about it. Emmaus, PA: Rodale.
    In-text reference: (Gire, 2006)
    If you quote directly from an author you need to include the page or paragraph number of the quote in your in-text reference, for example:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

In order to be accepted and published by SUAR BETANG, the author(s) submitting the article manuscript should complete all the review stages. By submitting the manuscript the author(s) agreed to the following terms:

  1. The copyright of received articles shall be assigned to SUAR BETANG as the publisher of the journal. The intended copyright includes the right to publish articles in various forms (including reprints). SUAR BETANG maintains the publishing rights to the published articles.
  2. Authors are permitted to disseminate published articles by sharing the link/DOI of the article at SUAR BETANG. authors are allowed to use their articles for any legal purposes deemed necessary without written permission from SUAR BETANG with an acknowledgment of initial publication to this journal.
